My daughter has always struggled in school. She is not one to study on her own and you know how teenagers feel about their parents. Nothing I could do could make her understand Algebra, Spanish or even Art. We were at our wits end when we decided to hire a tutor and it is the best decision we have ever made.
Alexandra has spent almost all evening doing homework for as long as I can remember. After hiring Katie to be her tutor, that all changed. With Katie, she has a mentor, not a parent. Katie works with her at her level. Having only graduated from high school 3 years ago, she is much closer to Alexandra’s age. They bonded immediately. They now work together 3 nights a week and often text each other on nights that they aren’t together.
Since Katie has recently taken the same classes, she understands the new way of thinking about school assignments that I could not get. Everything has changed in the 30 years since I have been in school. Katie is able to explain things like the MMA writing style to her that I have never heard of.
